About Consumer Review

Consumer Review is an independent editorial publication focused on outdoor and recreation equipment.

We started this site because we found it difficult to get straightforward, general information about outdoor and recreation equipment that wasn't tied to a specific brand's marketing. Our goal is to give people gearing up for camping, hiking, or general outdoor recreation a clearer, more independent starting point before they make their own decisions.

Editorial approach

Our writers and editors research publicly available manufacturer information, industry standards, and long-term ownership reports relevant to outdoor and recreation equipment. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage of any specific brand, and we disclose our general editorial standards in our Terms of Service.

What we are not

Consumer Review is a publisher, not a retailer, a manufacturer, or a professional advisory service. Nothing on this site should be treated as legal, medical, financial, or safety advice specific to any individual reader's situation.
